The Perfect Gift

At this time of the year, most people are hustling around trying to get that one gift for that someone special,or those few special people in their life that they want to have a good Christmas. You can go in any store , WalMart, Target, Kohl's,Sears etc, and you will find crowds of people rummaging through the aisles, rifling through the shelves, tearing apart displays, standing in long lines, just so they can say they got the perfect gift. that's one reason I refuse to go to the mall this time of year, because not only do you find all that I have mentioned, you find some of the most unfriendly, inconsiderate, rude people you have ever had the "pleasure" of "running" into. These same people that I am talking about are, for the most part, normally very nice, friendly caring people, but that search for the "perfect" Christmas Gift for a loved one or a special someone seems to become an obsession that turns them into the bad half of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Now mind you it's not their fault, it's societies in my opinion, because that search for the perfect gift, has taken them in the wrong direction and we all know going in the wrong direction is never a good thing.
We as a society seem to put all our focus on the things that we think will make other happy and what we fail to realize is , we can never give someone the perfect gift. Why would I say that though. Well in James 1:17 we are told that "Every good and perfect gift is from God, and cometh down from the father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning". In other words , God is the only one who can give the perfect gift.We cant give anyone anything that will match that, now can we. We can search from now until the end of time and we will never find what we are looking for. What we will find if we continue to search for that perfect gift on our own because of an obsession, then what we will actually find is every wrong gift out there and never be able to satisfy those who we are giving gifts to ,but ,ore than that we will ever satisfy our own needs deep in ourselves. We will walk around in a haze of Sin and continue to head in that wrong direction. We know this because Romans 6:23 tell us that "The wages of sin is death, But the GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
You see this time of year is the time we celebrate the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin , the one true Son of God (Matthew 1:23).This child would be the sacrificial lamb that would give his life on Calvary's Cross so that you and I could live forever in Heaven. You see God sent his son into this world as a ransom for our sin. He sent him to this Earth 2000 years ago as the Christ Child, and watched him leave this world 33 yrs later at Golgotha, that is the place of the skulls. He came as the PERFECT GIFT, given for the salvation of a world in sin. Given so that you and I could live free, free of the bondage of sin, free of the grasp of Satan and his demons, and free of the world. All we have to do is quit searching, and remember that 2 Cr 9:15 says "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift". That indescribable, or unspeakable Gift is his Son.
How do you receive this Gift we it's easy. Romans 10:9 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Its that easy. Jesus is waiting on you this night, all you must do is reach out to him and he will reach out to you. Confessing  your sins and accepting accept Christ as your Saviour is easier than you know. If you truly want to know Christ you can repeat this simple prayer "Lord I know I am a sinner, and I know that you died for me. I repent of my sin, and ask you to now come into my heart, save me, and take me to heaven when I die. Thank you Lord for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen..
If you prayed that prayer then Welcome to the family of God. I urge you to follow up by contacting someone to help you get started in your new life with Christ. You can contact me and I will try to help you as best as I can in finding a good home church and a good pastor to learn under. God Bless you and may you find Christ in all you do.

     In Christ' Love,
          Bill
