Strength in our Weakness

As we walk through this life, there are many different things we see and have to deal with that makes us angry, depressed, confused, and just down right numb. How we handle those situations is what makes us who we are. It tells us how strong we are inside and it also lets us know if we are a person of faith, a person of violence, or a person of weakness.I have talked to a few people this week who were going through different things and I have got to tell you, I have not seen so much  strength in people as I have this week, yet to hear them speak they are the weakest person in the world and have no inner strength, but I know better and let me tell you how I know.
2 Corinthians 12:9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Now some would read what I just wrote in that first paragraph and then look at that scripture verse and be totally confused saying "how on Earth can there be strength in weakness' that makes no sense". And they would be right , how can there be strength in weakness, I mean that's impossible.Well first off Matthew 19:26 says " Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.".so lets look at some examples of how this can be.
First off  the weakness that Christ is talking about , is ours. We as Humans can be strong in a lot of ways but when it comes to spiritual warfare , we are weak. We cannot stand up to the attacks that Satan will bring against us when we commit our lives to living for Jesus. We on our own have no strength. Picture this, a newborn baby is taken home and starts crying because he's hungry. The baby's mother will come and pick the baby up, because he can't get up on is own, and she will feed him, change his diaper, burp him and lay him back down and he will be content. That's how we are. To God we are children when we get saved he has to pick us up and feed us with his word so that we can make a decision to live for him, Then he changes our "diaper" which i envision as Christ taking and wiping away the sin that has kept us in the dark for so long. The act of him burping us i see as him purging us of ourselves, putting away the old man and refilling us with his spirit, and hen he sets us back down to go out and tell others about is goodness and his mercy. This i the first act of Strengthening us for our spiritual life, but there is oh so much more.
Secondly part of our spiritual workout, is to gain strength through the study of his word and the bonding of ourselves together with other like minded believers. We have to dig into the word and when we do, he gives us an understanding of his word that allows us to not only be nourished in our spirit, but it allows us to reach out to others to try and help them come to know Christ as you now do. The more we study and get into the meat of the word, the stronger we get. This is important because it allows us to know when something isn't right in our lives or in the live of another believer, so that we can pray, and this in turn gets us to "feeling the burn" as some say in the exercise realms. By "feeling the burn" I mean we are really starting to come to a revelation of who Christ really is in our lives and how we should be out shouting his glory from the rooftops for all to hear. This is our strength to go out and evangelize to others, to feel compassion for those who are lost and do not know Christ as we do. This is also where we get the strength to carry our burdens for others through to prayer, standing in the gap for them and believe in God for their salvation.
The third part of this is when we look in the mirror and we see our spiritual "muscles" have gotten to the point that we now see them. We know that we have the strength to withstand the attack of the devil, no matter what the situation. Again it's not like we can stand up and say OK come on and take on the Devil all alone, oh know, this is where we FLEX our strength, because this is when we are probably at our strongest, because this is where we get down and dirty against the devil, because this is where we PRAY!!! That's right , we Pray. This is when we truly understand that we have no strength in ourselves, but every bit of strength that we have comes from above. Only through prayer can we stand and say "Satan get thee behind me, for I am a child of the king, or for they are a child of the king, or WE are children of the king and no weapon formed against us shall stand"!!!!(Matthew 16:23 and Isaiah 54:17). This is when the child of God becomes the strongest weapon that the human race has against the evil of this world, a bible believing, Christ following, down on their knee's Prayer Warrior and let me tell you that is when you are flexing some serious strength and the Devil is shaking in his boots when you reach this level. This is the strength we need to get through each and every day of our lives.
I believe Jesus strongest moment was when he said Not my will but thine be done when he was praying in the garden. For it;s at this moment we see the weakness of the human side of all of us, for he said if there is any way father let this cup pass from me, but then his true strength shone through when he said but not my will but thy will be done. This is one of our finest example of how "Strong" we should be. because no matter what the situation all we have to remember is it's his strength , not ours for we have none, that will see us through and deliver us from the evil one. Romans
Brothers and Sister's I challenge you to stop and look at what's going on in  your life, your families life the lives of those around you and realize that no matter what storm is brewing on the horizon, or what storm you are currently going through all you have to do is turn your weakness into his strength and you will get through it. God Bless you for reading this and remember  "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
